Blue is bred for speed and did race on the track until she was a 4-year-old. She was retired from the track and has spent her last five years as a family riding horse and broodmare. She produced two beautiful foals, a flash sorrel colt with socks and then a classy bay filly, and was an excellent mother. Blue has good ground manners; is easy to catch, clips, bathes, is quiet with the farrier, and loads and hauls nicely. She has been ridden in arenas and out on the trails where she is not spooky and NOT herd bound. Blue usually has a laid-back personality and is sweet and willing, but does have plenty of spunk or get-up-and-go when asked. Her owner believes that Blue will be happiest with an advanced beginner or better rider to enjoy on the trails, in 4H or English and western in little local shows with a some practice. She does well in a field alone or with other horses, but might crib if confined in a stall unless she wears a cribbing collar. Blue is healthy, current on her shots, worming and hoof trimmings and lives in Eugene, Oregon.
