"Stilts" is a special gelding that the big ranch he was raised, trained and used on didn't really want to sell; but there are other young ones coming along who need finishing like Stilts and just so many hours in the day. Stilts is the type of horse than any good horseman can climb on and he will give 100% to the rider with his great work ethic and huge heart, so puts himself seriously into any job he is asked to do. This TALL leggy 10-year-old gelding has worked at every job on the ranch plus been shown in local and county rodeos and shows in barrel racing. He is strong, fast, quick and his conformation with his long sloping shoulder and short back with big hip, make him amazingly athletic for his size. He is truly a 'cadillac' to ride with very smooth gaits who always picks up the correct lead and who can stop and turn around so effortlessly it is awesome - he is a naturally-born athlete. With his beauty, training and attitude he could go in any direction in the show ring with a bit more finish/polish in a specific discipline, so don't JUST think of Stilts as a working or ranch horse. He DOES have a great stop and turn-around; and he has run solid 4D times on the barrels with minimal training and showing with the speed to do 1D, but could go in any direction and look good doing it. Stilts has a great disposition and is very mannerly on the ground or under saddle, so is truly a pleasure to be around. He is sound, conditioned, HYPP tested and guaranteed N/N, loads and hauls great and lives out east of Prineville in Central Oregon. This ranch also has several other good, young, well-started horses available for sale.
